02/02/2024

To get an idea of what to expect from the property market in 2024, we need to analyse what happened in 2023.

How was 2023?

The closing figures for 2023 tell us that:

. the market fell by around 20% compared to 2022, meaning that the 133,000 transactions made in 2023 compare favourably with the 168,000 made the previous year. Out of every 5 deals made in 2022, only 4 were made in 2023.

In addition to the drop in the total number of transactions, 2023 was characterised by a drop in:

.  turnover of around 16%, with 27 billion euros recorded compared to 32 billion in 2022.

In 2023 we also saw adjustments to the m2 price of properties and in some municipalities in the country we saw a clear slowdown in their value.

This year was also marked by a growing slowdown in the pace of transactions, increasing the average time between placing a property on the market and selling it.
